Duplitech is proud to announce that Blake David-Blasingame has been accepted as a full member of the Colorist Society, recognizing his decade-long progression from quality control to restoration, film services leadership, and advanced HDR color grading.

Blake’s journey with Duplitech began in 2014, when he joined the company as a quality control technician. He quickly distinguished himself through his precision, technical discipline, and exceptional eye for image fidelity — qualities that soon led him into film preservation and restoration work.

As Duplitech’s film services expanded, so did Blake’s role. For five years, he led our film services team, overseeing archivists, colorists, and restoration specialists across a wide range of restoration and remastering projects. Under his leadership, the team remastered more than 400 features and shorts, balancing historical authenticity with modern presentation standards on titles including:

  • 12 Angry Men

  • Halloween

  • Paths of Glory

  • The Our Gang / Little Rascals shorts

In 2022, Blake transitioned into full-time color grading, where his creative and technical strengths have continued to flourish. Over the past four years, he has graded more than 100 titles in Dolby Vision, demonstrating an advanced command of HDR workflows, color science, and evolving display technologies.

During supervised grading sessions at Duplitech, Blake has collaborated directly with renowned filmmakers and cinematographers, including:

  • Oliver Stone — JFK

  • Martin Brest — Scent of a Woman

  • Newton Thomas Sigel — The Usual Suspects

What sets Blake apart is the way he brings both technical precision and filmmaker instincts to every project. With a BFA in Film & Television Production from New York University, with a concentration in cinematography and directing, Blake approaches restoration and color grading with a deep understanding of narrative intent, visual rhythm, and the creative choices behind the image.

Beyond his individual achievements, Blake has supervised and mentored colorists across hundreds of projects, helping elevate the craft within Duplitech and supporting the next generation of restoration and color professionals.

“Blake exemplifies the qualities the Colorist Society seeks to uphold: creative excellence, technical innovation, collaboration, and mentorship.”

— Anthony Cunha, Founder & CEO, Duplitech

Please join us in congratulating Blake on this well-earned recognition and in celebrating his continued contribution to the preservation and presentation of culturally significant films for audiences worldwide.
