Is there a difference in Blu Ray Discs between Widescreen and Full Screen?

Really? I would think that makes no sense since most HDTV are widescreens. I bought a ps3 for xmas havent opened it yet but it comes with Spiderman 3 and outside it say nothing on widescreen or full screen.

How can I figure out what blu ray drive is required for me PS3?

I bought a non-working PS3 with the understanding that it only needed the lens cleaned. I bought a blu ray lens cleaning disc, which didn’t solve the problem, so I opened it up, cleaned the lens well, put it all back together, and still nothing. The unit works, it just can’t read any discs. Any ideas?

Why does my PS3 display black bars when playing Blu Ray DVD’s?

I have a new Toshiba 63″ 1080p TV connected to a PS3 via HDMI.
When playing Blu-Ray movies, I get black bars on the top and bottom. Also, the quality of the film is not any better than standard DVD’s? I’ve checked the setup configuration on the PS3 and most all display settings are on ‘automatic’.
Any advice?

What are the best home theater system for a 1080p HDTV and blu-ray DVD player?

I recently purchased a HDTV with 1080p and a blu-ray DVD player (PS3), and wonder what are home theater systems that would provide better outcomes at a reasonable cost (<$500). Do I need to buy a system or a receiver and separate speakers with capacity of 7.1 channel and HDMI 1.3 output?. Any recommendations on particular brand name and model?
